A plane carrying 18 people has crashed in a mountainous region of western Indonesia,

 "The plane crashed sometime between 07:28 (00:18 GMT) and 8:05 this day in all parts of the mountain Bahorok, which is about 36 nautical miles northwest of the field," said the official told AFP.The plane was carrying 15 passengers and a crew of three strong.The Ministry of Transport and Chairman of Aviation Heri Bakti in CASA C - 212 aircraft was flying from North Sumatra and Aceh provinces.He said it had lost contact with air traffic control after sending a signal to emergency situations.
